| Obverse description | A tall, stylized seven-branched date palm (Phoenix dactylifera) occupies the center of the field, with two clusters of dates hanging from the upper branches on either side of the trunk. The tree is rendered in a schematic yet vigorous style characteristic of Bar Kokhba coinage. The abbreviated Hebrew inscription שמע, reading left and right of the trunk in the lower field, identifies the issuer Simon (Bar Kokhba) in a contracted form. The entire design is set within a plain circular border. |

| Obverse lettering | שמע (Translation: Sma (abbreviating Simon)) |
| Reverse description | A stylized grape vine leaf on a curling tendril fills the central field, rendered with bold, deeply struck lines consistent with the hammered coinage of the Bar Kokhba revolt. The leaf and its stem are depicted naturalistically, conveying the symbolic importance of viticulture in Jewish national iconography. The Hebrew legend שב לחר ישראל is arranged around the periphery of the field, reading 'Year Two of the Freedom of Israel,' asserting the political and religious aspirations of the revolt. The coin exhibits an irregular flan typical of emergency struck provincial bronze issues of this period. A dotted border frames the entire reverse design. |
