Obverse description A palm branch (lulav) enclosed within a wreath of laurel or olive leaves, centrally positioned in the field. The surrounding legend in Ancient Hebrew (paleo-Hebrew) script runs along the inner border of the coin. The design is characteristic of Bar Kokhba revolt coinage, struck in a bold, somewhat irregular hammered style. The wreath is rendered with individual leaf pairs flanking the central branch, imparting a symmetrical, ceremonial quality to the composition.
