| Obverse description | The standing figure of the Nordhausen Roland depicted in full relief at centre, crowned and armoured, raising a sword in his right hand and resting his left hand on a shield bearing an eagle. The dates 927 and 1927 appear on flanking pillar cartouches to the left and right respectively, with the Meissen manufactory mark of crossed swords incised in the lower field. Decorative foliate and zigzag motifs fill the lateral panels, and a beaded border frames the entire design. |
