Obverse description Within a slightly recessed field, a tall palm tree dominates the center, flanked by two figures in relief: on the left a woman joyfully lifting a child aloft, and on the right a man kneeling to plant a sapling. The surrounding legend reads in Latin along the upper rim 'ISRAEL LIBERATA' and in Hebrew along the lower rim, commemorating the liberation of Israel in 5708 (1948).
