Obverse description High-relief depiction of a bearded Renaissance-era figure, presumed to be Ambroise Paré, seated at a draped table and examining a dental instrument held in both hands. Various dental and surgical tools are arranged on the table before him, with an ornate architectural background in the field. The engraver's initials 'ah' appear in the lower right of the field.

Reverse description The upper portion of the reverse features a circular emblem depicting a caduceus-style serpent staff over a globe, surrounded by the legend 'ODONTOLOGIA ARS SCIENTIA PROGRESSUS' along the circumference. The lower portion of the field bears a darkened panel with the inscriptions 'AMBROISE PARÉ', '1510–1590', and 'Pioneer in Oral Surgery.' in raised lettering. The mintmark 'F' appears in the lower exergue.
