| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized globe intersected by a swooping athletic figure in relief, overlaid with the Moscow 1980 Olympic Games emblem (five rings surmounted by the Spassky Tower mascot) and two decorative rectangular panels. Radiating lines emanate from the central device. The surrounding legend is arranged in two arcs: the upper legend reads along the top of the rim, and the lower legend along the bottom, with the inscriptions СССР ТБИЛИСИ to the left and ИЮЛЬ 1980 to the right of the central device, all separated by star ornaments. |
