Obverse description A large St. Edward's Crown in high relief dominates the field, surmounted by a cross pattée. The dates 1852 and 1952 flank the crown, with the legend SMELTED FROM MATLOCK LEAD ORE around the upper periphery and WIRKSWORTH BARMOTE COURTS in the lower field, separated by a Tudor rose ornament below.

Reverse description The arms of the Duchy of Lancaster in high relief: a crowned heraldic shield bearing the three lions of England in the upper half and a quartered label with lions passant in the lower half, flanked on either side by tall ostrich feather plumes. Tudor rose and oak leaf sprigs appear at the top and bottom of the border, with the legend DUCHY OF LANCASTER around the periphery.
