Obverse description High-relief left-facing bust of Winston Churchill occupying most of the field, modelled with great sculptural depth. The name CHURCHILL is inscribed vertically along the right rim, the date 1945 appears in the field to the right of the bust, the engraver's name and location (LOEWENTAL / LINCOLN) are incuse at the truncation, and the death date OB.24.JAN.1965 curves along the lower rim.

Reverse description A hand emerging from a billowing cloud grasps a large flaming victory torch in high relief at centre. A Churchill wartime speech is rendered in two columns of raised lettering flanking the torch, and a continuous tribute legend encircles the entire rim. The engraver's monogram appears at the bottom of the field.
