| Obverse description | A mourning female figure reclines against the tomb of Emperor Charles VI, upon which his name CAROL. VI is inscribed, with an imperial crown and eagle atop the monument. To the right, a radiant rising sun breaks over the horizon, symbolising a new era. The circular German legend runs from approximately 8 o'clock, and the date 1740, marking the emperor's death, appears in the exergue. |
