| Obverse description | The obverse depicts in high relief a crowned Madonna figure seated on clouds in the upper field, holding a sceptre and an orb, with a kneeling figure in chains below her in the lower field, symbolising liberation through intercession. Abbreviated legends arc around the rim, and the founding and anniversary dates 1749 and 1984 appear at the bottom. The inscriptions WALLFAHRTSKIRCHE MARIA ZU DEN KETTEN and ZELL AM HARMERSBACH are inscribed in the field on either side of the central design. |
