| Obverse description | The obverse features a high-relief depiction of one of the ancient Egyptian sphinxes situated on the University Embankment before the Academy of Arts, set on its pedestal and facing left. The background field, rendered in laser-matted technique, shows a panoramic cityscape including the dome of St. Isaac's Cathedral and the façades of buildings along the English Embankment. The legend arcs along the upper rim, with an additional inscription in the lower field beneath the sphinx. |
