Obverse description A relief image of a Lion on the Palace Wharf, which is located on the Admiralty Embankment in St. Petersburg, near the eastern pavilion of the Admiralty (near the Palace Bridge). Above the lion is an image of an Angel, made using the laser matting method. According to one version, the Angel and the Lion are symbols of St. Petersburg: the angel is the protector of the city, the lion is its guard.
