| Obverse description | The obverse depicts a full-length relief effigy of Catherine II as the Legislator, holding a scepter in her right hand and extending her left arm toward an altar with an open book, with a burning torch in the upper right field and a sailing vessel visible in the background to the left. The legend arcs around the upper and lower periphery in Cyrillic characters. The design is adapted from the Russian 25 rubles 1992 palladium coin of the Age of Enlightenment series. |
