Reverse description The reverse presents a detailed relief of the equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington standing on a plinth, the figure depicted in profile facing right on horseback. The surrounding legend reads THE WELLINGTON STATUE LONDON ERECTED JUNE 1844, with the sculptor's name SIR F. CHANTRY SC. visible at the lower left, and a lower inscription recording the cost and funding of the statue.
