Obverse description The obverse depicts a detailed perspective view of the Royal Exchange, London, in high relief, showing the neoclassical facade with its prominent columned portico and clock tower to the right. The legend 'ROYAL EXCHANGE LONDON' arcs across the upper field, while a multi-line inscription in the lower field records the laying of the first stone and the opening by Queen Victoria. The engraver's name appears along the left and right margins.
