Reverse description A detailed perspective view of the New Royal Exchange building in London, depicted in high relief with its columned neoclassical facade. The legend 'NEW ROYAL EXCHANGE LONDON' arcs across the upper field, with allegorical standing figures flanking the building on either side. Historical inscriptions regarding the founding, destruction, and rebuilding of the Exchange appear in the surrounding border and in the lower exergue area, recording the laying of the first stone by Prince Albert on January 10, 1842 and the opening by Queen Victoria on October 28, 1844.
