Canadian maple leaf sprigs entwine the ribbons. A scroll below the coronet bears the motto ICH DIEN. The outer legend VISITED CANADA AND INAUGURATED THE VICTORIA BRIDGE runs around the periphery, with the date 1860 at the bottom and the designer's and engraver's signatures M. D. WYATT DES. and J. S.
