The upper left circle contains the arms of Preston (a lamb with flag, initials P.P.), the upper right contains the Birley family coat of arms, and the lower circle bears a cartouche inscribed with the Guild Mayor's name and date. Flanking ribbon banners at left and right read MERCHANT and GUILD respectively, with a scroll at top reading PRESTON and decorative Tudor roses filling the interstices.
