Reverse description Central oval garter bearing the motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE enclosing the three ostrich feathers badge of the Prince of Wales above a coronet with the motto ICH DIEN on a ribbon. The garter is surrounded by a decorative floral and foliate wreath. The outer legend reads HRH ALBERT EDWARD PRINCE OF WALES / INDIA 1875-6, with a small effigy of Queen Victoria at the base. The engraver's signature PHILLIPS FECIT 1876 appears in the lower field.
