Obverse description A winged Victory figure stands atop an ornate central cartouche flanked by two oval medallions in high relief, the left bearing the bare-headed bust of Napoleon III facing right with the legend NAPOLEON, and the right bearing the diademed bust of Queen Victoria facing left with the legend VICTORIA. Below the medallions, two heraldic shields are displayed side by side, one bearing the Imperial eagle and the other the Royal Arms of England, all within an elaborately scrolled border.
