Reverse description An allegorical scene depicting a standing female figure representing Hibernia, draped and wearing a crown, playing a large Irish harp, with a putto at her feet and a kneeling armoured figure to the right amid palm fronds. To the left stands a decorative altar or pedestal bearing the royal cipher. The engraver's name WOODHOUSE appears on the base line, with the date AUGUST 1849 in the exergue. The commemorative legend curves around the upper border.
