Obverse description The obverse depicts a historical scene in high relief showing Queen Elizabeth I, crowned and in elaborate dress, standing at centre surrounded by a retinue of courtiers and attendants, with two heralds blowing trumpets at left. An inscription in the lower exergue records the proclamation of the Royal Exchange in 1570.
