Flanking figures include an angel with a torch at left, a winged figure bearing a laurel branch at right, and a kneeling figure with a cornucopia in the foreground. The City of London shield appears in the lower centre field, flanked by the date MAR: 1863. The legend WELCOME ALEXANDRA arcs around the upper field, and the engravers' signature J.S. & A.B.
