Obverse description Mature veiled bust of Queen Victoria facing left, wearing a small crown surmounted by a cross and a laurel wreath, with elaborate robes and jewellery in high relief. The legend 'VICTORIA' appears at the top, 'QUEEN AND EMPRESS' along the lower rim, and the commemorative inscription 'TO COMMEMORATE THE 60TH YEAR OF HER MAJESTY'S REIGN' is divided in the field to either side of the effigy. The engraver's signature 'F. BOWCHER. F' appears in small lettering below the bust truncation.
