| Obverse description | Crowned and veiled bust of Queen Victoria facing left, wearing imperial state robes and jewelled ornaments, with a laurel wreath beneath the crown. The legend VICTORIA appears at the top, flanked by the inscription TO COMMEMORATE THE 60TH YEAR OF HER MAJESTY'S REIGN in the field to either side of the effigy, and QUEEN AND EMPRESS along the lower border. The engraver's signature is visible in the lower right field. |
