Surrounding it, the legend JUBILEE COMMEMORATED and the date 1848 arc around the inner border. Between the inner and outer borders, twelve oval cartouches arranged in a wreath of acanthus foliage each bear the name of a mission field and its founding date, including WEST AFRICA 1804, SOUTH INDIA 1814, MEDITERRANEAN 1815, NEW ZEALAND 1815, NORTH INDIA 1816, CEYLON 1818, WESTERN INDIA 1820, N.W. AMERICA 1822, WEST INDIES 1823, EAST AFRICA 1843, CHINA 1844, and ABBEOKUTA 1843. The outer border is decorated with a beaded pattern. |
