| Obverse description | Central field features a large faceted diamond gem in high relief, with radiating light lines emanating from its crown. Flanking the base of the diamond are two shield-shaped cartouches bearing the founding year 1896 at left and the jubilee year 1971 at right. Small diamond lozenge ornaments appear at each side of the inner legend border. The circular legend reads DIAMOND JUBILEE at top and THIEF RIVER FALLS, MINN. at bottom, with the Osborne Coinage mintmark visible at the base of the field. |
