Reverse description The reverse features a central legend KANSAS above the inscription ATTAINED STATEHOOD / JANUARY 29, 1861, flanked by two laurel branches tied at the base by a ribbon cartouche bearing 34TH STATE. At the top of the field, a circular emblem depicting the Kansas state flower, the sunflower, is surrounded by stars and the legend KANSAS / SUNFLOWER. The mintmark F appears at the bottom of the field.
