Reverse description The reverse features a central medallion in relief depicting the Iowa Wild Rose, the state flower, encircled by a ring of stars with the legend 'IOWA' above and 'WILD ROSE' below within the inner circle. The state name 'IOWA' and the inscription 'ATTAINED STATEHOOD DECEMBER 28, 1846' appear in the central field, framed by a wreath of laurel branches. A scroll at the base bears the legend '29TH STATE', with the Franklin Mint mintmark below.
