| Reverse description | The reverse displays a circular medallion at the top bearing a relief depiction of the Mountain Laurel, Connecticut's state flower, surrounded by stars and the legend CONNECTICUT MOUNTAIN LAUREL. The central field bears the large inscription CONNECTICUT, below which the text ATTAINED STATEHOOD JANUARY 9, 1788 appears in smaller relief lettering.
