Obverse description Saint Geminianus seated facing on a throne, vested in episcopal robes and mitre, raising his right hand in blessing and holding a crozier in his left; the Ghirlandina tower and city arms of Modena appear in the lower right field behind him, with a heraldic shield to his lower left. Conjoined episcopal arms in relief appear at the bottom of the field below the central device. The circular Latin legend runs around the entire circumference, with the engraver's signature S. JOHNSON incuse on the base.
