| Reverse description | A large relief scene depicting the 1106 translation of the relics of San Geminiano: multiple figures including Matilda of Canossa and Bishop Lanfranco are shown opening a large sarcophagus, with attendant clergy and laity gathered on both sides. Additional figures appear below the sarcophagus. The circular Latin legend runs around the upper circumference, and an inscription panel in the lower exergue identifies the principal participants. The fineness mark 900 is struck at the very bottom of the field. |
