Obverse description The obverse displays the elaborate Chigi family coat of arms in high relief, quartered and surmounted by a princely crown with mantling, flanked by decorative scrollwork and tasselled drapery. The shield incorporates the characteristic Chigi mounds and oak tree motifs, with crossed papal keys and tiara visible at the top of the achievement. A engraver's signature appears in small letters at the bottom of the field.
