Obverse description High-relief bust of King Frederik IV facing right, wearing a long flowing wig, draped cloak, and a laureate wreath partially visible in the hair, with the collar of the Order of the Elephant visible at the truncation. The upper legend arcs above the effigy, and the royal title is inscribed in three lines within a recessed rectangular cartouche at the base, with the engraver's initials P.B. and a small elephant mark below the bust.

The inscription on the pedestal reads in three lines, a circular legend runs along the upper rim, and a six-line commemorative inscription occupies the lower exergue, all within a plain raised border.
