Obverse description The obverse features a detailed relief depiction of the brig Mercury under full sail in a coloured field, framed by a rope border. The ship's name appears as a legend in the upper portion of the field, with the year of commissioning '1820' in the exergue. At the lower centre, a coloured St. Andrew's Cross naval ensign is displayed flanked by decorative anchor motifs.
