Obverse description The obverse features a high-relief rampant lion of the Margraviate of Meissen occupying the right field of the white porcelain plaque. Overlapping the lion in the left field is an applied polychrome relief reproducing a historical Meissen thaler, depicting the crossed swords arms with surrounding legend. The curved inscription 'SAXONIA NUMISMATICA '89' runs along the lower left rim.
