Reverse description The old emblem of the United Arab Emirates used between 1973 and 2008. It consists of a falcon of Saladin. The falcon has a disk which shows 2 dhows (Arab sailboats) in its interior. The disk is surrounded by a chain. The falcon holds with its talons a parchment bearing the name of the federation in Kufic script.
