Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Queen Victoria in left profile, with hair drawn back and drop earring, in high relief against a flat field. The legend curves around the upper periphery, and below the truncation a small floral ornament appears with the engravers' signatures VERSCHIER DIR. HAES FECIT.

Reverse description The crowned municipal arms of Antwerp, depicting a castle with two raised hands, set within a large wreath of fruits, leaves and flowers. The date 1843 flanks the shield in the field, and the circumferential legend reads EMBARQUEMENT DE LA REINE in the upper arc and ANVERS 20 SEPTEMBRE in the lower arc.
