Obverse description Standing full-length nude figure of Bonus Eventus in classical Greek style, facing front, holding a patera or round object in his left hand and a small bunch of grain or flowers in his right hand, standing on a ground line. The legend BONUS EVENTUS curves along the left and right fields, with the engraver's signature GALLE F. in the lower exergue.

Reverse description A large fully-rigged sailing frigate under full sail navigating choppy seas to the right, with a smaller vessel visible to the left and another in the far right background. The designer's and engraver's names DENON D. and GALLE F. appear along the left and right rim respectively. A three-line inscription in the exergue below a ground line commemorates Napoleon's arrival at Fréjus on 17 Vendémiaire Year VIII.
