| Obverse description | The obverse depicts the House of the Republic building in the lower field, flanked by two sculptural monuments in high relief: the monument to S. D. Erza (sculptor) on the left and the monument to the Hero-Stratonauts on the right. The coat of arms of Saransk, featuring three arrows and a fox with the date 1641, is displayed in the upper center, flanked by decorative ribbon scrolls bearing Mordovian ornamental motifs. The legend appears on two ribbon banners, one at the top and one at the bottom of the field. |
