Obverse description The obverse depicts in relief both sides of the 1762 trial ruble: on the left, the obverse of the historic coin featuring the right-facing bust of Peter III with surrounding legend; on the right, the reverse of the coin displaying an ornate cross with the date 1762 and imperial regalia. The legend ПРОБНЫЙ РУБЛЬ arcs along the upper field, and the date 1762 appears in the lower exergue, all within a plain raised rim.
