| Obverse description | Crowned and robed bust of King Edward VIII in left-facing profile relief at centre, flanked by the royal cypher 'E VIII R' in the field. The upper legend appears on a red enamelled ribbon scroll, while the lower legend is inscribed on a blue enamelled band. Enamelled ribbon scrolls in white with red and blue enamel surround the effigy, and national floral emblems of the United Kingdom are depicted in relief at the periphery.
