Reverse description The upper portion of the reverse depicts the bow of the polar vessel Stella Polare sailing through turbulent seas rendered in high relief, with the ship's name inscribed on her hull. The lower two-thirds of the field contains a multi-line dedicatory inscription in incuse lettering, flanked at the bottom by laurel branches. The inscription reads as a tribute from the Venetians to the expedition, dated September 1900 (SETT. MCM).
