Obverse description Three-quarter bust effigy of Emperor Peter I in military dress with a sash and order badge in high relief, facing slightly right, based on the portrait by Paul Delaroche (1838). In the background, a depiction of the Bronze Horseman equestrian statue (Falconet, 1782) in St. Petersburg is visible within a circular inner border. The dates 1672 and 1725 appear to the right of the bust, and a decorative flourish is placed at upper right.

Reverse description The reverse displays a large double-headed eagle with three crowns, a sceptre and an orb, with a shield bearing St. George on the breast, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The circular legend arcs around the upper periphery. The mint mark and fineness stamp (ИМД Ag 999) appear in a cartouche at the lower centre of the field.
