Obverse description Two opposing male profile busts face each other across the field, with a dense relief composition of intertwined human figures arranged between them in the upper portion, referencing the myth of Perillus and Phalaris. A bull in full profile stands in the lower field, with tufts of grass beneath it, alluding to the brazen bull instrument of torture. The legend PERILLUS-PHALARIS appears along the lower rim, with the artist's signature RENKA visible in the upper left field.
