Reverse description The central field features the crowned shield of the Order of the Garter bearing the motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE, surrounded by four heraldic shields of the Commonwealth nations linked by diagonal banner ribbons inscribed with GOOD SAVE THE KING and the dates 1914 and 1919 above. The dominion names CANADA, INDIA, AUSTRALIA, and AFRICA appear between the shields, with a thistle and rose spray in the lower exergue.
