| Obverse description | The obverse features a white enameled field bearing the polychrome enameled Coat of Arms of the Kingdom of Hawaii at center, depicting two warriors flanking a central escutcheon beneath a royal crown, with the state motto on a blue ribbon below. The surrounding white border carries the legend PAN AM WORLD INTERNATIONAL RUGBY TOURNAMENT around the upper arc and ★ HAWAII 1979 ★ along the lower arc, with the Hawaiian motto UA MAU KE EA O KA ʻĀINA I KA PONO appearing on the ribbon within the arms. The entire design is enclosed by a raised gold-plated laurel wreath border with a suspension loop at the top. |
