The field is plain with no legend, the design filling the full flan within a raised rim.

Reverse description A detailed view of Tower Bridge over the River Thames in high relief, with several vessels including a steamship passing beneath the raised bascules. A city arms shield flanked by a female figure appears in the lower exergue, and a decorative civic emblem is struck above the bridge in the upper field. The curved legend arcs along the upper rim, with a two-line inscription along the lower rim interrupted by the heraldic device. The engraver's signature F. BOWCHER. FECIT appears in the lower left field.
