Reverse description The reverse depicts two full-length figures flanking a tall central obelisk monument: to the left, Samuel Chapin in Puritan dress holding a staff, and to the right, Metacomet (King Philip) in Native American regalia. Neoclassical buildings appear in the lower field on either side of the monument. The engraver's signature 'C. F. SHERRY' appears in the lower exergue, with the circular legend around the rim and additional inscriptions in the field.
