| Obverse description | The mirror-polished field depicts two thrones from the Armory Chamber collection in high relief: centrally and prominently, the Throne of Ivan the Terrible (early 16th century), a massive, richly ornamented seat with a domed canopy and carved decorative elements, and to the left, the more elegant Baroque-style Throne Chair of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna (1742). Cyrillic legends identify each throne, with the outer border bearing the bilingual legend МОСКОВСКИЙ КРЕМЛЬ / THE MOSCOW KREMLIN and the inscription КОРОНОВАНИЕ НА ЦАРСТВО. |
