Obverse description The central field depicts in high relief the three principal regalia of the Russian Empire arranged on a cushion with tassels: the Great Imperial Crown (1762) surmounted by a cross, the Scepter (1770) extending diagonally across the lower field, and the Orb (1762) resting to the right. A bilingual legend in Cyrillic and Latin script surrounds the design, with identifying inscriptions flanking the regalia in the field.
